If adhesive oozes up between tiles when you press the tile into place you are using too much adhesive.

Install only a few tiles at a time spreading adhesive for two or three tiles. Place spacers between the tiles to establish the grout lines. Grouting may seem scary but it doesn t need to be. The color of grout you choose can play into your design in different ways.

In this video i show you how to grout tile. Work in a small area at a time roughly a 3 x 3 foot section. Use a hard edged rubber grout float and hold it at a 45 degree angle. I am using pre mixed grout for th.

Grout it may not command the same attention as your tile but your grout is an important part of the installation process that affects the overall look. One key to success is to remember that grout has a limited working time and can dry before you know it. Spread the material in sweeping arcs pressing it into the joints to fill them completely. Use the center tile as a reference point and install the remaining tiles along straight lines.

Pour a quart to half gallon of grout on the tiles. Grouting is not difficult to do well but it is even easier to do poorly. The process that i use will allow you to get the perfect finish on your tiles. Doing a proper grout job will ensure that the floor under the tile stays safe from moisture.

This task is less time consuming and labor intensive than installing tile but it s even more important than making sure all your tiles are straight and look nice.
